    Looking for testimonials…

Hey Ouareau Girls! I’m working on the new website, and I’m hoping that you can help me out.
I would love to know more about your favourite programs at camp. If you could answer these sections that would be great!
    1. Evening Programs (unit nights, campfires, skit night, Sunday Evening Program, etc.) - which type is your favourite, and why?
    2. Rainy Day Programs (e.g. Ouareau Gladiators, Miss Ugly Ouareau, etc.) - what is your favourite one, and why?
    3. Traditions (welcome campfires, opening/closing ceremonies, tribal competitions & Land Water Relay, etc.)
Drop me a line at kate @ ouareau . com or post on the Ouareau Facebook wall if you have an idea - it would REALLY help me out! Thanks ladies!
Merci!!!!!

    Sorry about the email!

    Hello Alumnae!

Just wanted to let you know that the link in the email we sent out a while ago about alumnae clothing is faulty - please don’t try it! You can reach the clothing order site from our alumnae page.

Please get your orders in BEFORE AUGUST 1ST so that we can have the clothing ready for you!

Don’t forget to register yourself and your cabin mates for the alumnae weekend, September 16-18!

  5.   Visitor’s Day is tomorrow! Can’t believe that our first batch of girls is already leaving us (time flies by so quickly when you’re having as much as we do at Ouareau!) And just after that… our first canoe trip leaves to Papineau Labelle! The girls are having a blast trying to so-po (that’s “solo portage”) our Kevlars and complete their Voyageur tests. Good luck ladies!

    Looks like we made it…

Well, we’re about 10 days into camp and about 4 days into some WICKED hot weather - we actually had GATORADE for the campers so that we could combat the dehydration! It seems like forever since we stopped having “bug juice” on the table at lunch - now we just have water, sometimes lightly flavoured with slices of lemon and lime. Our fantastic alumnae mentors have mostly gone (thanks to Julia Bubrin and Rebecca Green for sticking around a little longer!) and the activity heads are having a great time with their kids, and doing a great job taking care of them too!

We’re already starting preparations for the next batch of campers who arrive on Sunday! Viva camp and its fast-paced feel!

  7.   First campfire of the 2011 season! We couldn’t have asked for better weather. Now if only we could hold an opening ceremonies without a thunderstorm…

    Phew! What a day!

Congratulations to the staff of 2011 - we have made it through our first full day at camp! Big thanks to Mother Nature for her excellent choice of sunshine and warmth; and an even bigger thanks to our alumnae who have been helping out around camp - Rachel Savidge, Jenn Worsnip, Rebecca Green, Julia Bubrin, Cat Lauzier, and Catherine Harnois!

Have you attended a Women’s Weekend in the past? We are looking for volunteers to help (wo)man a booth at our Visitor’s Days on July 9th and August 6th. Please email info@ouareau.com for more information!
